What is Adoptee Limelight?
It’s a space dedicated to hearing the stories of adoptees from all around the world. It’s a space of their own where they can share their story of pain, hope, grief, loss, and healing regarding their adoption journey. We are passionate about sharing the truth as we see it regarding our adoptee journeys, even when it hurts. It’s a space of transparency.
It’s a space where we can come together and read, share, and learn from other adoptee experiences. It’s a space where non-adoptees can read and learn from those who understand what it feels like to be adopted, the adoptee.
By sharing our stories, it brings purpose to our lives and the lives of other adoptees who might be able to relate to our experiences. Adoptee stories connect adoptees with other adoptees, and it validates the many complex layers of the adoptee experience.
We hope to share at least one adoptee story a month from an adoptee who is willing to share their story at their comfort level. We want to inspire other adoptees to consider sharing their stories. Each month we will highlight one adoptee and uplift their voice by assisting them in providing them with the platform to share their story.
